Just 500 Speedsters were built in 1935-36, making them highly sought after. Each was tested at 100 mph (160 km/h), which was achievable thanks to 148 bhp from the supercharged engine.

When this huge two-seater sports car was unveiled in 1934, its bodywork - designed by master stylist Gordon Buehrig - caused a sensation. The car was fast, too, powered by a supercharged eight-cylinder engine; every car came with a plaque certifying that it had been driven at over 100 mph (160 kmh) by racing driver Ab Jenkins.
